FEEL: A skin care brand called MooGoo...

Hey guys, yay for the weekend, not like I do much but yayyy!

And before anyone says anything, yes I changed the design of my blog just cause I felt like it and I do things like that every so often because I get bored pretty quickly and WOAH my keyboard is spazzing out on me.

Sometimes I find it really weird when people say to me that they’re not into the whole skin care and makeup and beauty things because I forget that we all have different interests and I like to think that everybody thinks like me, but no. Talk about being in my own little world.

I like when I find a product that really works and it’s something useful where I just tell people about it because I can’t help it, I mean I’m the type of person where I’ll buy it and they can try it and then I’ll rave about it and talk it up so that they’ll get it. Get it? =)

I picked up this amazing cream a couple of weeks ago and my skin is literally glowing! Now in all fairness, I personally think it was like fate, I was meant to buy this. So, a friend of mine came over and I was like heyyyyyy your skin looks GREAT! And she was like thankyou, it’s this all natural cream I literally just slapped on my face and I was like yeahhh and just nodding like an idiot because her face was glowing and it looked so hydrated and smooth and you get it. Caroline was amazed. She told me about it and 3 days later I walked into this chemist and there this product was, right at the counter, I’ve never seen this particular brand there before but this time I did, so I bought it because I wanted my skin to glow too.

It’s a skin care brand called MooGoo.

MooGoo in Full Cream

Now it’s for every skin type imaginable and what I love about it is that when you put it on, there’s no heavy residue (MINERAL OIL FREE EVERYONE*) which makes it amazing.

Mineral and Paraffin oil free!

It’s made from natural ingredients and every time I look at the packaging I want to drink milk, sorry lactose intolerant people. I personally can’t believe how many people really like this brand and at the same time I wonder why people I know haven’t gotten on board with this product. I think they just need me to tell them about it, they’re just waiting.

This one is in Full Cream, it comes in ANTI AGEING TOO

It’s been 2 weeks using this particular cream and my skin looks so good. I love how it’s super soft and it has that natural glow to it. The main benefit is for skin elasticity and getting that elastin back into your skin.

Check the link out, I personally am in love with this brand, just read the packaging and that’s what sold it to me. http://www.moogoo.com.au/

Let me know guys if you do try this out because it’s just so nice.

*mineral oil/paraffin oil – leaves a residue on the face which eventually clogs the pores in your skin

It’s already September! and Benefit total moisture facial cream review, just a bit.

When the heck? It’s Spring already!!! I swear I just wrote a blog about it being the beginning of August. Where have I been? It totally feels like I just skipped a whole month.
But anyways let’s pretend my brain hasn’t gone MIA and let’s start September with me telling you all about how much I got to spoil myself by buying some new skincare products because I guess I don’t want to spend my money on clothes because all the sales on winter stock is everywhere and I just can’t resist!

Some great advice from my mum that she’s given me and something that has just stuck when I’m out shopping is if you want to spend money, like I mean SPEND MONEY (if you still didn’t get that, it means pricey, expensive, great quality, worth your money’s worth)  there are 2 things you should spend it on, that is anything that goes on your skin, your make up, skincare, creams etc and shoes and I’m not talking about those fancy heels ladies contrary to what you may think but shoes that support your feet. Why?

The skin: A lot of people take young skin for granted, by not moisturizing, not cleansing properly because we’re young and although we don’t see any effect now, it will happen eventually. I personally do believe as well that you don’t want things that are cheap that is most likely going to give you some sort of reaction and you never really know what are in these products.

The shoes: Shoes are so important especially if you’re standing up all day or moving around, going for a run, you need something that will support not only your feet, your ankles, your knees all the way to your back. You’d be surprised with how much pain you can get from just wearing the wrong shoes. Trust me, I’ve been there, running with shoes that don’t have gel on the bottom really took a toll on my knees, especially because I was running everyday for 2 hours.

Back to my skincare..

I always thought that I didn’t really need to spend too much money on skincare, all your cleansing, masks, exfoliating. I’m very lucky to have good skin and drinking lots of water helps. So I decided you know what I want a skincare that’s good for me just to brighten my skin, get rid of the dark circles, the occasional pimple because with the hotter season coming up, my skin is going to hate it. I’m a sweater, so mix sweat with stress from knowing you’re going to get pimples and the oil and BAM! It’s pimples galore with pores the size of Jupiter, gross.

What I’m loving at the moment is the skincare range by Benefit.

Although I’ve only just started using it, I can tell you that anybody who finds creams irritating and heavy and sometimes you just don’t want to apply it because you get that dragging feeling and overall you just feel uncomfortable so you don’t put it on, it’s like exercise, sometimes it makes you uncomfortable so you don’t want to do it.

With Benefit total moisture facial cream, it’s just so light but it has all the moisture you need. This particular one doesn’t contain any sunscreen so it’s a great day and night cream. It’s also perfect before you apply your makeup just by adding that extra moisture your skin might need and the smell is unbelievable. It’s so fragrant and you just want to put it on.

Benefit total moisture facial cream
I didn’t realize how much I’ve blogged so I do have other products by Benefit which I will probably put up in a separate post, because you know any short attention span people, like me are not going to sit here reading this, I mean my bottom is sore just from sitting here typing.

When I purchased this product I wasn’t too worried about the price, this one is 48.2g and I paid $59 for it, which I thought was fine because you literally don’t even need too much moisturiser. I would honestly say it’s worth it.

Anyways I am going to enjoy the rest of this amazing sunny day here in Australia, I promise to have more Benefit skincare products I bought up here, sometime, soon, I hope. =) Love yous, if that’s even a word.

Dear diary: I FINALLY got a new phone!

So I finally got another phone literally 2 days ago and I love it so much.

When my phone broke I was using this really bad replacement where the battery would die every time I made a phone call and yeah if you go back to see when I blogged about when my phone broke, that’s how long it’s been with this thing.

I’m not going to lie though, it was pretty funny when I went out for my friend’s birthday dinner and she was cutting the cake and everyone took their phones out and I swear it was either an iphone or a galaxy or some sort of touch screen and I pulled out my Nokia 6610 and said Oh yeah I’m going to take a photo too, with this! and everybody just started laughing. (If you don’t know, it doesn’t even have a camera.) But it didn’t bother me, I love making people laugh, I was laughing too because I still couldn’t believe I hadn’t bought a new phone yet.

If you’re wondering I got myself the Nokia Asha 200 which is fine for me, I’m not really into all this technology business. Apps just give me a headache. I’m so old school for my age, I love it. As long as I can text, call and if I’m really in trouble/stuck somewhere internet access is great.

The one thing that kind of got to me was when a friend of mine said something along the lines of why don’t you get a smart phone, don’t be so old school and lame which really sucked because if they really knew me, they’d understand that I hate touch screens despite the fact that my galaxy tab is one but you know as friends I just didn’t feel like I had to justify myself which really just got me thinking, how much do your friends really listen to you and are they just nodding their heads to not be rude but they’re really thinking about their own issues.

Anyways I’m so tired, have a great night everyone!

Short hair VS Long hair

I think no matter who you are, there will be a time in your life where you are going to want something you don't have. Think about it, if you have dead straight hair, you want curly hair, if you have short lashes you want longer lashes, lighter skin you want to get a tan. Sometimes I think the world is just full of opposites and wanting to change things.

Bringing me to the topic of today or what's annoying me right now... short hair vs long hair. I've had it all, those do it yourself home hair cuts that were super short and made me look like a boy, the very thin at the bottom crazy layered hair that apparently everybody should have to the medium length hair that just sat there with no volume, so flat and so boring.

My hair grows out pretty quick but if any of you can relate, that'd be great. When you go from having long hair to short hair, it feels so weightless and it has so much volume to it or maybe its just me because I cheated and got a perm. However when hair grows out, there is a stage in hair growth that I like to call the ugly stage.

The ugly stage: This is where your hair has grown to a length that it is just impossible to work with.It frustrates you because you seem to be having a bad hair day almost everyday. It tends to go wild and frizz up at times, it feels dry, it looks unhealthy and no matter what you do to style it, it's just not working and most of the time it's gathered into some sort of top knot trying your best to hide all the imperfections and make it look as stylish as you possibly can at this stage. It gets all in your face especially when that wind blows and you feel like you just want to shave it all off.

At this very moment my hair is exactly at that stage and I just want to shave it all off because it is so crazy frizzy from this perm I got and it is just at a length where it doesn't look good. So I thought, genius me why not write down some pros and cons of short hair vs long hair.

Short hair:

Pros..

- Great for  hot summer days where you might tend to sweat, it feels great not to have any hair up in your face or the back of your neck, sweat away ladies and gents.
- Drys so quickly after you have a shower whether it be the natural way or using a blow dryer, which saves electricity as well, added bonus.
- I like to call this the ready to wear hair, wake up, I mean come on short hair, how much time do you really need to style it?
- It's manageable, less dead and split ends because it always looks healthy.

Cons..

- It doesn't have that nice bounce to it when you walk, sometimes it lacks volume
- Limited styling looks, it's not like you can plait short hair or try out a crazy style
-  People might mistake you for a boy!
- It's one of those haircuts that just don't suit everybody

Long hair

Pros...

- Style it anyway you want, try out different looks, imagination just goes wild
- You can play around with it more
- There are so many styling products you can get for long hair
- Add some cute little feather extensions in, or some hair accessories just look better on long hair IMO.

Cons..

- It can be hard to maintain with all those products
- You're just asking for split and dead ends
- You kind of malt more I think
- It just gets so annoying when it is being stubborn and won't sit in the right place

The best solution for hair at the ugly stage would be the top knot or a messy bun or even a claw clip just so it's back, off the face and because you won't see it as much, your brain tricks you into thinking that it's growing out faster, but sometimes it lies.
Have a great day everyone!
If you live in Australia enjoy this winter heatwave, because I definitely am not.

Dear diary: Customer service is just so bad!

Yesterday I went out, I decided to go to the shops to buy a couple of gifts for my friend for her birthday this weekend. I wanted to create a little gift box for her, if you guys don’t know, I love making gifts and making it personal and just getting all artsy crafty, if that makes sense. Here’s a link of a gift idea I came up with if you want to check it out. http://lalalinee.blogspot.com.au/2012/04/nifty-gift-idea.html

I mean okay, I’m prepared to deal with rude people, like I know not everybody out there is going to be nice or treat customers or people in general the way they should be treated, maybe because they’ve had previous bad experiences with other customers but can I just say, not every customer is going to be rude. I mean, I feel like I blog about retailing all the time because I’m just so shocked with how bad customer service is. I get that you have a job to do but it takes 2 seconds to say hello when somebody walks into the store, you don’t even have to ask if I need help with anything but just greet me and then you can get back to doing whatever you have to do.

I think in retail it’s so important to be nice and not to judge, I mean at the end of the day, you’re trying to make a sale and trust me I walked out of so many stores yesterday because customer service was just that bad, I was all ready to pay for what I wanted, too bad they took too long talking to each other about their hair.

For me, it does bother me that people can just be so rude, but worse for them because I will never walk into those stores again and it just creates a bad image for them.

Too bad, so sad is all I can say.

I'd love to know is it just me or is customer service pretty bad?

FEEL: Lucas' papaw ointment review

August august august, guys it's august already! I feel like july just flew by.
Today I want to talk about Lucas' papaw ointment.

Lucas papaw ointment

I'm going to include a little link for all of you if you want to check it out and see why so many people rave about this product, which I'll include at the end of this blog.

My story..

This product has been around for a while and was crazy popular when I was in high school, I am not kidding one day I was like my lips are so dry at the moment and my friends would literally whip out their papaw ointment and say you should use this, it's really good.

Being stubborn, I never really jumped on the ban dwagon of papaw ointment because I wanted to be different and not have what everybody else had, I don't know, it's hard to explain. People would rave and rave about this product and I wouldn't really care to much about it.

The other day my fingers swelled up and it was so red and itchy that I had no idea what was going on with my fingers, I later figured that okay an ant bite or many because it felt so inflamed, swollen, red, itchy and just overall ugly and if any of you have ever had an ant bite, you get it right? And talk about biting in an awkward place too, if it bit me on my leg I don't think I'd care too much but fingers? Really ants?

The swelling went down because I rubbed a wedge of lemon over it but I still got left with some rough skin and skin that looked deflated if that made sense, it's hard to describe. A loss of elasticity I'm going to call it. I decided because it was there in my bathroom I'd try it out on the ant bites because at that point nothing was working and to me, using that, there would be no harm. Within a couple of hours, it looked so much better, almost completely healed now, the skin is looking normal and no dry or flaky areas. My thoughts, love it and it works!

My mum actually had a skin  reaction the other day to a sunscreen and her cheeks were so inflamed and red she was complaining that it was burning her and that it hurt. Immediately I was like, wash your face and cold compress, which helped and overnight she applied the papaw ointment and the next day it was amazing, it wasn't completely healed, but the swelling went down, the redness reduced, it's crazy when products really work sometimes.

What you use it on...

This product has so many benefits and it's not only an ointment that relieves but also cleanses the problem area. You name it, cuts, minor burns, chafing, splinters, cracked skin, nappy rash, insect bites (me), splinters, thorns I could go on.

My love for it..

What I really love is that, it's not only a product that works but it's inexpensive. You get so many crazy creams and ointments out there that are pricey and you're not even sure if it's going to do the job, with this ointment even  if it doesn't work, you've only spent at minimum $4.95 (that's how much I paid)

The sizes and packaging..

You've got 3 sizes, the 25g which comes in a tube form, which is just great to pop in your handbag. Talk about convenience. You have the 75g tub and also one that comes in 200g, if you use a lot of it.

I don't normally talk about packaging with products but with this one, it's simple and in a vibrant red colour, you just can't miss it.

Links and last few words..

If you guys want to read a bit more, head on over to their website and check it out for yourself. All I can say is I've got the little 25g tube in my bag everywhere I go now.

Till next blog, have an amazing day everybody!

Dear diary: When your phone breaks, turn to facebook..

.. or some type of social networking site.

People are really mean.

So today my phone broke and I’m going to blog about how I feel because I’m so frustrated right now.

I’ve only ever had 2 phones, my first one being a nokia 6610 and my recent one a nokia 6760. I’m not that type of person who needs a phone with all these apps or you can do this on this phone and you can do that, you can get how many gigabytes you want. I don’t care. To me a phone is a phone and as long as I can call people, text people and they can reach me and I can reach them it’s fine.

So today I dropped it and it’s not the first time it’s been dropped and with nokia phones, the backing usually just comes off along with the battery, the screen has never cracked on me. But being a slide phone, this time it slid open and smashed on the floor so the sliding is broken and the film that attaches the information together or whatever I don’t know, it just snapped so it’s broken and it won’t turn on.

I was like, I can fix it. NO I CANNOT! I literally don’t even know. So as soon as I got home I spent 3 hours going through all pre paid phones I had, to find that 4 out of 5 of them are all locked! So I went back to my nokia 6610 and the battery is literally dying, I’m not talking just charge it, it’ll be fine. NO! it’s that old that even if do charge it, the battery is going to die.

I thought that’s okay I can still get all my info from the sim card, oh guess what guys, it’s not SAVED ON MY SIM CARD!!!!! And then I was like oh wait it has a micro sd card, so maybe all the info is there. Spent half an hour calling up people asking if they had a card reader, thankyou for family for living close by, got it. So I managed to save some pics and videos and music but I have no peoples. I have none of my contacts saved on this sd card and I am so devastated because it’s all saved on my phone that doesn’t even turn on now, calendar dates, notes. IMPORTANT THINGS! And before anyone goes well you should of backed up your phone and update info daily onto your computer from your phone, just don’t. I already feel so poop inside and it doesn’t help when you go on google to find answers to fix the problem and you get smart comments like that. Alright why do people have to be so mean? A simple, try getting it repaired at a mobile repair shop or recommend a good place you can get it fixed, is fine. People need to calm down with the things they say sometimes. I don’t even know.

All I can say is thank you for social networking sites at least I can get some numbers off there.

FEEL: Yes to tomatoes acne spot stick REVIEW

Okay I’m kind of mad right now. Although I love trying out new products that I get or are given to me or I buy for myself, I really don’t like it when this one product I have seems to be working for everybody else but me, well 90% of people calculated by my own made up statistic, but you know what I mean.

What is Caroline talking about you may ask? Well I’ll tell you, okay, I’m talking about this Yes to tomatoes clear skin acne spot stick.

Yes to tomatoes clear skin acne spot stick
Where do I begin, okay mostly girls but some guys may relate to this if you’ve seen the ads, you get a pimple or you feel a whopper of a pimple coming on and you’re stressing out because people are just going to stare at it and with stress comes more pimples (if you’re like that) and you just need clear skin for this one event you may have. It always happens, your skin could look fiercely clear for one week and then when you actually have to be somewhere or go to a party or a rocking event, lol, yeah I’m laughing at myself I just said that, you have this huge pimple and no not at the side where you can sort of hide it with some hair but smack bang right in the middle of your face, so it’s like your pimple might as well be saying hello to everyone you meet.

I was so excited to try this spot stick out because just as I got it, I got a massive red pimple because I don’t even know, I think because this week I just went a bit cray cray with the deep fried food, whoops.

Reading the reviews on this product as well got me so excited and kind of a bit sad to say this, what I was reading was that it worked really well for A LOT of people who tried it, but unfortunately not for me, well sort of.

What is it?

Yes to tomatoes clear skin acne spot stick
It’s a roller ball spot stick which targets all those blemishes you may have and allows you to apply the product on the spot or blemish that needs it unlike you facial washes or scrubs which you apply all over your face.

What’s in it?

With any acne or pimple treatment, you’re going to find that it contains salicylic acid which helps to unclog pores, break down any blemishes and also control the oil.
It also contains bisabol and ginger which helps with the redness you find on your pimples and it helps to reduce it and also tomatoes which have lycopene which is great as that will help to control the oil.

How to use it?

I think the one thing that annoys me about this is having to apply it 1 -3 times a day especially for those really severe blemishes and even though it’s a quick little roll on, what if you’re the type of person that wears a lot of moisturiser or foundation all day.

The roller ball
When applied..

Applying it, it’s fun, it’s a different product, it makes you feel like you’re targeting that pimple. It goes on clear which is hard to see and make sure you give the tube a good shake so the roller ball doesn’t get stuck.

What I like about it?

I do like however that it is just for those spot blemishes, the smell is nice, I do really feel like I am doing something to prevent these pimples from getting worse, it’s not a drying product, my skin doesn’t get irritated. I think with the Yes to tomatoes brand, they’re products are very mild.

So why am I mad?

I guess I’m definitely bummed that it didn’t work as well for me, in my opinion it’s not a miracle worker, the blemish isn’t going to disappear overnight, there may be a slight difference, I definitely will say the redness on my blemish has reduced a fair bit and

My thoughts overall..

I would recommend this for those pimples that get really red. As for zits or blackheads or whiteheads, not so much as these lie deeper in the skin so I don’t think it works that deep down. But from what I gather overall it’s a product that would work for the majority.

New shoes hurt, help me break into them..

I love buying new shoes, but they always just hurt after a few hours you’ve worn them, not when you initially try them out in the store and walk around, no, they’re fine, but until you’ve walked around in them a couple of hours you’re feet are just so sore by the end of the day and then you get the blisters plus the throbbing with the redness and it’s just ugly! And feet alone, gross. Feet plus redness plus blisters and swelling, double gross!

so pretty, but so painful, but not for long!
I get that shoes need to be broken into and mould to the shape of your feet but its painful. So sad, anybody have a shoe stretcher? They would be such a good investment especially for heels and these cute little pump wedges I just bought. It’s also weird because apparently our feet get bigger during the afternoon so I don’t even know.  Shoes you are just so lucky, you’re so pretty and all the styles and designs out there, ugh!
Black Imi Suede by Betts at $67.49

Alright so here are a couple of ways I try to break my shoes in..

1.      Walk around the house in your new pair of shoes, get used to them and if they start hurting, take them off and chuck on some slippers or something. (best way)

2.      If you’re going outside to hang laundry, wear those shoes, it’s only a very short distance from the backyard to the clothes line

3.      Get a guy to break them in for you, just an hour or two, just squeeze those feet in, no one will know, work in an office? Ask them just to slip it on under the desk, who looks at feet anyway?

4.      Pay 5 bucks and go get them stretched and leave it there overnight or a week

Calling out to you all, any other ways you know how I can break into my shoes, leave a comment I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW. The crazier the better!

Losing weight isn't just about being skinny and Yes to tomatoes pore scrub review

The other day I was given a health book and it talked a lot about how women go on numerous amounts of diets just to get skinny and in my opinion I think a lot of people out there forget that losing weight isn’t just about being skinny, but it’s about being healthy, it’s training your body to eat good foods and choose healthier options, it’s about walking up a flight of stairs without being out of breath, it’s seeing the changes in yourself, getting out there and being more active.

With eating the right foods, you reap so many benefits especially for your skin. So okay, you might get the occasional red spot here and there on your face but I mean who doesn’t?

When you eat a lot of fruit, some vegetables and just A LOT less junk then you usually would, your skin just glows, believe it or not makeup can only do so much sometimes and people forget that. Sure we can give you that fake glow but wouldn’t you want to have a natural glow all the time?

One of the reasons I love winter is because my skin settles down so much. I don’t need to use that toner to get rid of the excess oil because there isn’t any, the only thing I need more of is moisturiser and even the oiliest skin gets dry, so moisturise away just choose a water based one instead of oil based.

I tweeted the other day that I was going to get some new products in to try and one of the products that came in was skin care. The brand Yes to tomatoes is all about skin and hair care products. The first product I’ve tried from this brand really surprised me. If you don’t know, I believe in giving every product out there a chance, if you could see my makeup kit, I have a lot of different brands, not all the time will you find one brand that will work well with every skin type or even trying to achieve a particular look.

Yes to tomatoes daily pore scrub (113g)
So the Yes to tomatoes daily pore scrub really worked for me in the sense that it got rid of the redness in a blemish that I had the other night. One of the reasons I was so excited to use this was for the fact that it helped eliminate redness faster and when reading that health book of mine, darker vegetables give more nutrients, like broccoli will always beat cauliflower and having lycopene-rich tomatoes (an antioxidant found in redder vegetables and fruits) in this product, I just knew this would be a great.

However it does claim to unclog pores and make blackheads run for cover, with the pores I would say I haven’t seen any difference keeping in mind I’ve used this once last night and the most I can say for now is that the red blemish I had on my cheek has gone which really surprised me.

This pore scrub is made with natural ingredients and contains bisabolol and ginger where infused help to soothe irritated skin, reduce redness faster and calm inflammation and contains salicylic acid (found in all your cleansers) to help get rid of acne and unclog pores.

When using this, it was scent free and for me it was a mild face wash, it didn’t dry my skin but it definitely eliminated the redness on my skin so that’s a huge plus for me. Definitely will give this product a try for the next month to see how the pores are going but I’m liking it so far.

Hair accessories that don't hurt and look good.

I’m always so envious of those girls that have that perfect morning hair and it’s even worse when they say they just woke up like that. NO! Okay, it’s not fair.  We can’t all have that amazing straight hair that doesn’t frizz and doesn’t need to be straightened alright! That’s how my hair used to be until I permed it and now I’m sick of this perm. Straight hair, just come back to me, you don’t even have to grow long, just be straight please.

Hair accessories are something every single woman has whether it be a bobby pin to like a do rag/doo-rag/du-rag I guess, I’m not judging, it keeps the sweat of your face, whatever works. Sometime in your life you will use a hair accessory.

A lot of women like to tie their hair up using those hair ties which is great for keeping that hair up and out of your face but after a long day, it leaves a massive kink in your hair and you probably also find that when you brush your hair out or you’re in the shower, there’s a lot more hair breakage because that hair tie is constantly pulling on your hair. You also make it worse when you pull your hair to the sides to get that hair tie tight again.

so pretty, but so painful sometimes.
Headbands are also great for putting that fringe up on hot summer days but with headbands, they   just equate to a massive headache afterwards. You’re just asking for a headache. Try bobby pins instead, the ones that are zigzagged, they grip your hair a lot better.
When you read wide banded, you probably thought
of those really fat ugly ones right?
No way there are so many funky styles out there.
Or if you really can’t let go of your love of headbands, take them off once in a while and give that area behind your ears a massage or try those wide banded strapped hair bands.

for the love of claw clips,
it just makes putting your hair up that much faster.

Everyday hair accessories are great, say you have work all day and for some reason you have to tie your hair up (food prep etc etc) and then night falls you want that hair down to flaunt it or what not but there’s a huge kink in your hair and there’s no hair straightener in sight, not even those mini ones and no you can’t use an iron, because, just don’t.

A great accessory for your hair is to use one of those massive claw clips that grip your hair without pulling too much. I am in love with claw clips, they’re just better than a hair tie and your hair won’t break off as much you’ll find.

FEEL: NAK bio-marine complex surf styler for "beach hair" review

Here’s a thought guys, if you ever feel like making someone’s day, give them a gift unexpectedly. I love putting together little gift baskets for friends, it makes me feel so happy and will shock that person you give the gift to. I love it, random gift giveaways, I feel like making a random one right now. (Well there’s my random thought for the day)

Guess what I am going to be blogging about today?? Yeahh, it’s my hair again. I feel like I haven’t talked about my hair in a while because I got it cut short and haven’t had to go to a hairdresser in a while.

Alright so to all the ladies out there, this might be you, just keep reading.

Oh good morning hair, why don’t you look oh so flat and lack lusting, no volume, no shape, stubborn, won’t stay in place no matter how much hairspray I put, can’t find my teasing comb, can’t tease it, no oomph, why aren’t these curls sitting right, why does this side curl more than the other, why won’t you stay on this side not the other side fringe! And what’s with the frizz today.

Ever had that? Or some of them? I am not kidding you, the other day my hair was ALL that and bad hair day, that’s my definition right there.

Everything I tried was just not working for me, until dun dun dunnnnnnnnnnnn I tried this baby out.

NAK  bio-marine complex surf styler for “beach hair”

NAK  bio-marine complex surf styler for “beach hair”

Oh hair products, sometimes you’re just amazing!

I LOVE this hair product right now, my hair has never felt and had so much volume in my entire medium to long hair existence.

What is it?

Think of it as a hairspray, without actually looking like there is hairspray in your hair. You know that shiny look that just looks rock hard? Not like that at all!
It’s a leave in sea salt styler (formulated with Australian sea salt) for all hair types which gives a natural texture throughout the hair.

Why I love it..

What I love about this is how it gives you that natural look without looking like you’ve gone overboard with the hair products. It gives so much texture and being a leave in styler, it allows you to play around with your hair, whether it be styling an up do or leaving it out for that messy beach look with tonnes of volume that looks so good!

I definitely love it when products claim something and it’s right and it works, this product does exactly what it says, creating texture through your hair, that looks natural and almost like you didn’t even try and it still looks amazing.

It smells like..

Here’s a plus, for anyone who loves the smell of coconut, that’s what it smells like. A whole lot of coconut smelling hair, just don’t overdo it with the spraying because you don’t want to smell like a tropical fruit cocktail now and it’s great because you don’t even need too much of it.

Ways to use it…

Products that give the whole 2 in 1 benefit, is great. I’m not a big fan of hair products that are all like best used on towel dried hair, no, what if I don’t want to wash my hair or I don’t have time. I hate that.

So this is great for both, towel dried hair, just spray it through and let it dry naturally, or blow dry it to give it a bit more oomph loving volume. Or if your hair is dry spray it through to freshen your hairstyle or use it to hold down those frizz bits, (baby hair anyone?) or just to increase the texture even more.

Final thoughts, words, just stuff..

I so love this right now and for anybody who’s like me who has very thick hair at the bottom and lacks volume at the top, give this a go, I was definitely smiling so much that my cheeks hurt.

Happy 4th of July my USA lovers, I’m so sad, this time last year I was right there in LA for the 4th of July. Happy celebrating, think of me, it’ll be the 5th here  for me.

Dear diary: People are so judgmental..

You know the days where you just don't feel like working and you're just so tired and your body just wants to sleep and never wake up, well not never but just rest up until you’re ready? I am so in that mood right now.

I think one thing that is hard to do is to be nice to people when you’re so tired and you’re having one of those please leave me alone moments. Something I’ve definitely worked on over the years and growing up helps.

Today at work, I served this lady who looked quite tired and sick and in general, if you saw somebody like that on the street, you wouldn’t approach them. She was quite unusual and when speaking to her she was a bit slow with things. I’ve dealt with so many different people and this lady was so shocked at the way I treated her, she was surprised that I was so nice and I took the time to serve her and help her find the things she wanted, which when I thought about it, it really broke my heart especially when she started telling me that people around this area that I worked, would look at her weirdly and shudder when they saw her and didn’t want to serve her because of the way she looked. I just felt so bad because I know what it’s like to be treated like you’re not wanted at a store and people eyeing you down, making sure you don’t steal and it sucks and it’s such a shame that there are so many people out there still that just judge people. I think there is a huge difference in being genuinely scared to serve somebody and just being rude and 99% of the time I find, they’re just rude.

I talked to the lady about what she was telling me and we started talking about how being in your 20’s to 30’s would be the best part of your life before you started feeling unwell, your body starts slowing down and it just goes to show that you should never judge people and I’m so glad I didn’t because she really was such a wonderful lady who thought about her kids and her partner (as she was buying things for them) I even had another lady walk past and whisper to me that she wasn’t going to buy anything and that she had no money, well she bought $60 worth of stuff and maybe people should just be nicer, I know for one I wouldn’t spend my money in a place that didn’t give me good service, I’ve walked out of so many stores just because  they didn’t greet me and I was the only person in there, picked up a piece of jewellery  and wanted to buy it and because I didn’t get that service, they didn’t get my money.

Like I say, never judge people because you never know what somebody has been through.

All my love guys, will blog again soon.

SEE: L'oreal Paris powder blush review, loving these shades..

As I sort of promised, another blog today. Let’s see how long I can keep this going before I go MIA again.

I absolutely love this cold weather, the trench coats, ugg boots, everything but getting sick, gross.

One of my favourite makeup applications for winter is blush. It always seems to give you that nice pop of colour when your skin is looking dull, especially when you get the colour match right for your skin tone.

Another one of my purchases I went a little bit crazy on was finding a blush that was inexpensive but still looked good and lasts long.

Here’s a tip…

A quick tip that I find really works is if you want your blush to last that much longer and give it more staying power, try first applying a cream blush to the apples of the check and blend it out, then after apply the powder blush on top of it.

[cheat sheet] I’ve even used my bright pink lipstick when I didn’t have cream blush on me, works just as well.

Blush when applied should look natural and be the colour your cheeks would usually turn when you’re out in the cold.

The brand and shades..

L’oreal Paris makes some beautiful powder blushes and when applying it, it looked natural and lasted me a good 6 hours before it started fading.

With L‘oreal Paris the blush collection was amazing, it had a variety of colours and made it so easy for you to match your skin tone to the colour of the blush. I’m not kidding it was that easy to pick up a blush that looked good for any skin tone.

For example, for fair skin tones, they had 2 types of rose coloured blush. One blush was slightly darker in a deep nude and the other a nice bright, earthy, pink colour. I thought this was so great, I see some people who overdo their makeup especially when it comes to blush and contouring the cheeks and I just want to wipe it all off  but I’ve always liked that natural look, maybe that’s just me.

Why I love it..

This blush collection made it so easy for me to find a blush colour and there were 2 types of pink for medium and dark skin tones as well.

cute little compact with your own blush brush
and mirror, so convenient

The compact little case is so cute and so convenient. It’s got the powder blush, flip it open, it’s got a little mirror and a nice blush brush in there for you, so your quick touch ups are just so easy.

Did I also mention the staying power on this powder blush really surprised me. I definitely was not expecting it to last as long as a blush that I purchased from Shiseido or Clinique, it definitely proved me wrong and goes to show that all these products are about trial and error, not one brand will have every product perfect for that makeup look you’re going for.

Money time..

Alright don’t freak out but it’s your call if you think this is pricey or not. I personally think it is a bit pricey only because I bought so many to use on clients and having to have every different shade to match someone’s skin tone is important to me, I never want to go somewhere and say sorry I actually don’t have that colour to match your skin tone.

If this blush purchase is for personal use then I would say yes, it is worth it as it does come in a compact case including a mirror and blush brush and it’s for your own personal use.

The first 2 I got, I purchased at Target for around $16 discounted price at the time, original price I believe is about $25 give or take a dollar, which is a reasonable price compared to your other brands and then I walked into Priceline and it was buy 1 get 1 free so yeah I got another 2, come to think of it, I wish I got all the shades now.

If anything, just shop around or wait for sales if you don’t want to spend too much money, that’s my best advice.
