Cold weather = moisturisers x 100

Wow I’m on a roll, well not really but whatever second makeup/beauty tip in a row, yayyyy!

So right now, it’s so cold and when there is cold weather about, there’s that windburn we all hate, there’s the dry and cracked skin that nobody wants and our skin just needs twice as much moisture than it normally would. I’m pretty sure you bring out twice as many products during the winter than the summer. Well at least I do. Honestly, I can’t count how many times I’ve pulled out my lip balm or hand cream today, this weather is taking a serious toll on my skin.

Now who doesn’t love a nice long bath or a hot shower after a long day of whatever you happen to be doing. I admit, when it gets really cold, I love a good hot shower, who doesn’t.

So here’s a little tip to keep that moisture in your skin right after one has bathed themselves.
My face gets really dry after cleansing it or just getting out of the shower, so once you’ve washed your face,

-        Pat dry with a towel and grab some of your favourite face moisturiser and first rub it between your palms and then pat it down onto your skin. Doing it this way, really helps to lock in that moisture and doesn’t irritate the skin like it would if you slapped on some moisturiser and rubbed it all over your face really quickly. Trust me I’ve seen people do that.

Also,

-        Don’t forget the skin on our face is delicate especially around the eye area so take care and be gentle with your skin. (why else do you think we have moisturizers just for the face or just for the body, it’s not a money making scheme, we need both) and

-        Always moisturize after you shower, especially hot showers. Let’s keep skin nice and silky smooth feeling this season. Technically it’s autumn here, but it feels like winter.

And for all you in the northern hemisphere, your turn will come when it gets this cold.

Because we all have eyebrows..

..some just more plentiful than others.

Okay so checking the history of my blog, it hasn’t really turned out like what I expected it to be, I originally loved the idea of putting my thoughts out there but more makeup and beauty focused.

Since that idea kind of failed, I just, I get really side tracked okay. Sad face. Life just happens and problems, drama, I’m not going to lie people do some really weird things and I just can’t help but blog about it and things that I find funny or cool or weird it all goes up nowadays. (I mean come on I just introduced a series called the tea diaries, talk about being side tracked)

But it’s okay, I’m happy either way but to try and get some makeup and beauty related stuff back into my blog here’s a little tip I came up with the other day.

So for myself post makeup I like to call it when I didn’t know anything but slapping on foundation for that flawless look, that’s all I would really do. Foundation, some mascara and eyeliner going on and that’s it. No blush, no contouring just whatever was really quick and easy to do. Now that I know a bit more, well A LOT more my makeup application is more structured.

I don’t know how many of you out there fill in your eyebrows, I for one never use to do it because I didn’t think I needed to, my eyebrows held out a pretty good shape.

Okay so there are the brow pencils that people use or you can just use some eye shadow.  I prefer using eye shadow the only downside is it doesn’t last all day, we’re all about foundation needing to last a good while but what about your eyebrows especially if you’ve applied something there already.

So when you’re brushing some shadow through your brows, here are some tips:

-        After you put on your foundation be it with a brush or wedge, brush some of that foundation over your eyebrows. This will help the shadow to stick onto something and for you to get that stronger, fuller brow look that is so in right now.

The Body Shop brow & lash gel
-        Or, brush over your brows with your foundation and apply some clear brow gel, (I use The Body Shop brow & lash gel) over the hairs of your brows. This helps to comb your brows through and sets them in place. You’ll find that the gel is a little bit sticky, so brush through some shadow through your brows to fill in any gaps or extend them that little bit more. You’ll find that the shadow lasts that much longer than it would if you didn’t apply any foundation or brow gel there.

-        Or you can always get yourself a brow mascara, they come in heaps of colours, but I like doing it the other ways, it makes makeup more fun.
Brow comb they come in smaller lengths,
talk about convenience at your fingertips

And PLEASE remember, if you’re brushing shadow through your brows, comb it out! It helps to spread that shadow through your brows evenly and looks a lot more natural without people looking at you like what is going on with your overdrawn eyebrows.

Introducing The Tea Diaries...

As most of you probably would know by now I love my tea and I am dying to throw my first high tea party.

I want to introduce a new series called The Tea Diaries and this was inspired by my love of tea and all the cute accessories you can buy when you throw a high tea party and the different types of teas there are out there. That and I find myself blogging a lot about tea related stuff.

Because of this high tea party I want to throw, every tea, every accessory related to tea and the food involved in throwing a high tea party I’m going to blog about.

Anyways until next post, count how many times I said tea in this blog. TEA! Including those two TEAs or three.

Dear diary: I love me some music!

I don’t think I could go one day without music. It’s everywhere!

Morning routine, get up the first thing I do is turn on some music. The radio is the way to go for me, old school, I know! But I love it. I’m actually listening to some music as I’m typing this out.

Here’s the thing about me, when I hear a song I really like I’ll listen to it over and over and over again until I’m sick of it and just when I do start to get sick of it, it goes mainstream so that’ll last another month or two, then I won’t hear it for a while and then when I do hear it I’m like I love this song and sing my heart out!

But I’m not going to lie, I like mainstream music, one of my friends hates the fact that she’s heard this song first ages ago and then people start loving it because it’s mainstream, I just tell her to get over it. Geez first world problems (rolls eyes).

If you haven’t been asked this question, what kind of music do you listen to?  where have you been?  Do you like hip hop, jazz, pop music? For some weird reason I hate answering that question and I’ve kind of found a way to make it work for me. I hate answering what type of genres I like,so I say. “I like a little bit of everything” and you know what, it’s true. I love everything from pop to rock.

But the point of why I started blogging this out is because I wanted to share some of the songs I’m loving at the moment, new and old.

Youtube them. LOVE IT!

·        Karmin – broken hearted (“don’t you leave me broken hearted tonight”, haha love it)

·        Marianas trench – haven’t had enough

·        Rita Ora – How we do

·        Conrad Maynoro – Can’t say no ( oh weird, as I was typing this out, the song came on the radio)

·        Birdy – Skinny love

·        Marina and the Diamonds – premadonna girl

·        The Kooks – Naive

·        Oasis – Wonderwall

·        Far east movement – Live my life

Okay I could go on, but these are just some on repeat in my head right now.
